New Presentation
Series TVs From Zenith Target Education, Business
Integrated dual scan technology provides true SVGA display
ORLANDO, June 10, 1999 - Building on its strong presence in the education
and business-to-business markets, Zenith Electronics Corporation is launching
its new line of computer-ready color monitor/receivers at INFOCOMM
International this week.
Topping
the broad line is the "47 Series," four new monitor/receivers that
use Zenith's PCZTVTM Integrated Dual Scan technology to provide a true
high-resolution SVGA picture. In screen sizes ranging from 25 to 36 inches,
these units display stunning images in true 800 x 600 resolution.
Todd
Moffett, Zenith Presentation Series national sales manager, shared Zenith's
vision for tools that help educators and business communicators do their jobs.
"Schools and businesses share a common goal. They seek a quality viewing
experience for their audiences - one that enhances their message.
"Although
recent advances in technology have allowed presenters to display computer
images onlarge-screen TVs, that viewing experience was often less than ideal.
Lines of resolution were fewer and image quality was compromised. Now Zenith is
bringing true computer images to the TV screen - at attractive prices," he
said.
Zenith's
PCZTV has the unique ability to turn any classroom or meeting room computer
into a teaching tool with high-resolution, high-quality, large-screen images.
Instead of crowding around a single, small computer screen in order to see what
is being shown on the computer, students or meeting participants can view
computer-generated images on a single large-screen PCZTV or multiple PCZTVs in
ease and comfort.
Zenith's
47 Series 36-, 32-, 27- and 25-inch television monitors incorporate the
Multi-Sync Technology card from TV One, allowing for a variety of computer
resolution formats (up to 1600 x 1200) while using the rear connection DB-15
port, and native SVGA image quality (800 x 600 at 60Hz refresh) from the
additional DB-15 connection on the front of the sets.
Additional
features of the 47 Series include: Auto Sizing for full-screen image display;
Multiple Level Zoom and Pan capability that allows users to zoom in on a
particular part of the television screen and pan vertically or horizontally;
Horizontal/Vertical Image Control; and Image Freeze. (Manufacturer's suggested
retail prices: Model H3647DT - $2,299; Model H3247DT - $1,549; Model H2747DT -
$1,099; Model H2547DT - $949.)
Zenith's
new "46 Series" monitor/receivers also incorporate the new PCZTV™
integrated dual scan technology, with front and rear 15-PIN computer
connections. These four sets (25-, 27-, 32- and 36-inch), offer a more
affordable solution for learning environments where the zoom, pan and image
freeze fea-tures are not required. (Manufacturer's suggested retail prices:
Model H3646DT - $1,999;Model H3246DT - $1,249; Model H2746DT - $799; Model
H2546DT - $649.)
Back
this year are Zenith's "42 Series" commercial quality receiver/
monitors. Models H2742DT and 2542DT are perfect for less sophisticated
applications where an industrial television is required, with Zenith's patented
SuperPort providing an excellent pathway for media retrieval or data exchange.
Popular
features that span the "47 Series," "46 Series" and
"42 Series" product line include:
|
|
SuperPortTM - providing
easy installation of local service provider accessory modules without
removing the cabinet back. |
|
|
CamPortTM - front panel
audio/video jacks that automatically sense an audio/video connection and
instantly display that input from VCRs, DVD players, camcorders and other
video equipment. |
|
|
Multiple Protocol
Interface (MPITM) circuitry - to provide for easy external connection of most
interactive information services and allow access to on-screen display
information. |

Moffett said
another key advantage of the Presentation Series monitor/ receivers is their
familiarity. "A television set is the least intimidating of all current presentation
technology. People are comfortable with TVs and they know how to use them. It
makes sense to build on that familiarity and enhance the tools they already
know and trust. Zenith's new dual scan technology products do just that.
"What Zenith offers is
the 'WYSIWYG' ('What You See is What You Get') of display technology,"
Moffett said. "The picture quality you see on your computer monitor is
exactly what you'll get on Zenith's Presentation Series products."
